The process towards Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections will start on August 24 when the federation holds the much awaited general meeting.The meeting will be held in Nairobi and it is here that an electoral board together with the electoral code will be approved. Dates for the national elections will also be revealed ending uncertainty about the process.##NAJAVA_MECA_8262780##This resolution was made on Friday morning after the federation’s executive committee held its meeting at a Nairobi hotel.Conspicuously missing from Friday’s meeting was Timothy Nabea, the executive committee member for Eastern and his North Eastern counterpart Kado Dabar.The two officials have fallen out with the federation and have since switched support to Hussein Mohammed who is one of the contestants in the up-coming elections.FKF postpones AGM following court orderThe decision to hold the Special General Meeting (SGM) comes as a major relief to most football stakeholders as a string of court cases was threating to halt the electoral process and possibly a ban from world governing body Fifa.In March, FKF were stopped from holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM) by a court day and the matter seemed to have been resolved six months later when it was withdrawn.However, two weeks later a court order was issued barring FKF from holding any meeting. This was overturned days later after the federation challenged the order leading to the announcement of the August 24 date.Kenyan midfielder to stick to Zambian club after Rwanda move falls throughIt is not yet clear if current FKF president Nick Mwendwa will contest as he has served the mandatory two term limit allowed by the sports act.In the absence of Mwendwa, a number of his executive members including his deputy Deputy Petra and Chris Amimo are believed to be harboring ambitions to contest.
