The club however could still an additional goalkeeper and striker before the transfer window closes in three weeks.”We have signed quality players, but we can do even more. We want to start the league strongly, not like last season, and I believe we are almost ready. There is big pressure—every game you are supposed to win—but I am happy to have a bench with former players who understand the culture of the club,” Trucha said in an interview with the club’s official media channels. The coach also emphasized that the team now has better depth, which was lacking last season, forcing some players to play out of position.”I believe that the team is better than we had last season because, in each and every position, we have two players. In case of injuries or suspensions, we now have the backup, which was not the case last season,” he added.Kibwage opens up on Harambee Stars prospects after 3-year breakTrucha also highlighted the importance of the ongoing pre-season camp in Mumias, stating that being away from the capital helps the players grow mentally by making them a little uncomfortable. He noted that Mumias, being the club’s home region, was the ideal place to hold the camp.”I do not want a comfortable pre-season for the players; I want them to struggle a little because it helps build character and bond between the players and the coach. I believe that everything we planned happened, and we are looking forward to starting the league. I like Mumias for pre-season because it is our home; it is where AFC Leopards has its roots,” he stated. The team is set to leave Mumias for Uganda today, where they will play against Express FC in Kampala tomorrow. Trucha believes the trip will provide valuable experience for his players.”It is always good to check the international part of football as we want to be on the international stage. Playing in a full stadium, under floodlights—which we are not used to—will be another good experience for the players,” he concluded.AFC Leopards will kick off their season with a match against Mathare United in nine days.Pamzo- What it will take to turn Shabana’s fortunes around
