A look into new signings at Jackline Juma’s FC Talanta

FKF Premier League side FC Talanta is ready to take the local scene by storm after unveiling their new players. Before playing for Shabana, Oduor was a key player for Bandari FC, Mathare United, National Super League (NSL) side Nzoia Sugar, and Vihiga United.He was part of the team that helped Shabana earn promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season.He also was part of the team that reinstated Nzoia Sugar to the top tier in 2017 after a decade in the lower divisions. Representing Bandari FC at the CAF Confederation Cup has been the main highlight of his career.Enock MachakaMachaka joined FC Talanta from Nairobi United. The 26-year-old makes a return after being part of the team that helped FC Talanta gain promotion in 2021. The Jamhuri Secondary School alumnus also played for Bandari FC, Shabana FC, and Thika United.Kenyan International Onyango signs for South African sideEmmanuel Osoro The youngster was a key player for Nzoia Sugar before signing for FC Talanta. At only 18-years-old, Osoro is sharing in FC Talanta’s vision of securing a top-five finish.He will be keen to bring his A-game on board. This is his first time playing beyond the Western region, having played for Bukembe High School before joining Malaba Giants and eventually Nzoia Sugar.Kevin Odongo The 26-year-old is looking to bring his experience from Europe to propel the side to greatness. He played for FK Apolonia in Europe. He is an alumnus of Laiser Hill Academy.In 2016, while still in high school, Odongo represented the U20 national team. He started his playing career at St Joseph Youth in Nakuru before graduating to be a top footballer.The 30-year-old achieved immense success with Gor, including winning the league in 2015, the Super Cup the same year, the GOTV Shield with Bandari in 2019, and ended this year’s Mozzart Bet Cup as runners-up with KCB.Gabriel Andika Andika joined FC Talanta from KCB. He has played for several Premier League teams like Homeboyz and AFC Leopards. He also played for Western Stima. While at Western Stima, Andika won the Player of the Month in 2017.The 29-year-old received a call-up to join the national team while at AFC Leopards. He joined FC Talanta from Rainbow FC. He was part of the U20 team that represented Kenya in Rwanda in 2020. The Ongata Senior School alumnus honed his skills at the Rift Valley Soccer Academy.Peter Abiola Abiola was signed from Kibera Black Stars. At only 23 years, Abiola has been a key player for Vihiga and Soy United. He was part of the team that helped Soy United gain promotion from Division 1 to the National Super League in 2020.Robert Mutie The last signing is Robert Mutie. The youngster is a product of Talanta Hela, having been part of the team that won the Costa Daurada Cup in Spain back in April.He also represented Kenya in the International Schools Federation (ISF) Football World Cup in China. He is an alumnus of Matiliku Boys and played for Sultan FC and Mathare Hospital at club level.
