AFC Leopards winger flies out for trial opportunity with Serbian club

AFC Leopards have confirmed that their attacking midfielder Hassan Beja is in Serbia after being invited for trials at FK Vozdovac.According to an official who sought anonymity, Beja hit the runaway on Monday after obtaining all the relevant travel documents and clearances.The official, however, did not confirm the duration of the trial period but remained confident of the winger impressing and subsequently kicking off life at the professional level.##NAJAVA_MECA_8298148##Beja, has given a good account of himself since breaking into the Kenyan top flight slightly over three years ago when he, joined Nzoia Sugar FC from the little-known Lugulu FC.He might have struggled for playing time, in his first season in the top tier, but he picked up in the 2022-2023 campaign, procuring interest from deep-pocketed top-flight clubs in the process. The performances he put, in the said campaign, saw him earn his maiden Harambee Stars call up, in March 2023, when Kenya prepared to face Iran in an international friendly match. Amos Wanjala joins Spanish fifth tier side AC TorrellanoIngwe beat a host of teams, including 12-time champions Tusker, to Beja’s signature in July last year, marking a new chapter in his budding career. During his first season at the Den, the 20-year-old made it to the U20 national team that featured in a Four Nations Tournament held in Malawi back in March. He was also part of the Emerging Stars team that participated in the COSAFA Cup held in South Africa back in July where Kenya played three matches.Kenyan International Onyango signs for South African sideShould the Kilifi-born player impress in the trials, he will join his compatriot Collins Sichenje in playing professional football in Serbia. Sichenje, a Leopards product, is attached to FK Vojvodina although on loan from former Swedish champions AIK.
