Tearful Emma Raducanu insists she will learn from US Open first-round defeat – video

An emotional Emma Raducanu reflected on her first-round defeat at the US Open by American Sofia Kenin and said she would have preferred to play more matches before the tournament. Raducanu won the title as a qualifier in 2021 but lost 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to the former Australian Open champion – after skipping the French Open, Olympics and WTA events in Toronto and Cincinnati this summer. Raducanu said she would ‘manage my schedule slightly differently’ for grand slams in future.
