Nakuru City Stars reveals significance of Mozzart Bet donation in quest for promotion

Nakuru City Stars team manager Mathew Mutua says the support received from leading gaming firm Mozzart Bet will play a significant role in their quest for promotion to Division One in the new season. The club, which initially operated as Geothermal Development Company (GDC) Nakuru, secured a full set of uniforms, footballs and bibs from the gaming firm on Friday afternoon. With the new Division 2 Central Zone league set to kick off in early September, Mutua who was at hand to receive the sporting equipment alongside players and other officials, said the support goes a long way in relieving the, financially stressed outfit the burden of purchasing new kits. ##NAJAVA_MECA_4305161##”It requires a lot of money to kit the team every season. We are grateful that Mozzart Bet has taken care of that and donated footballs and other materials. This will definitely motivate us to fight for promotion in the new season,” said Mutua. Last season, the club finished third, in the fourth tier, behind Kapkatet and Shalimar, who earned themselves significant fame for making Kakamega Homeboyz sweat in a Mozzart Bet Cup round of 32 match in March last year. List of Kenyans Timothy Ouma has joined ahead of UEFA Europa League participationMutua, reveals that as little as Ksh1.5 million will probably be enough to get the club, which has produced several stars over the years, to the third tier. Homeboyz assistant captain Brian Eshihanda, former Ulinzi Stars defender John Otieno, KCB FC winger Stephen Etyang, and FC Talanta left-back George Onyango are some of the team’s alumni. “Thankfully, GDC takes care of travel logistics and we will not have to worry about kits. This leaves us with the task of filling the remainder of the basket. If we can fill the financial gap, then our promotion journey will be unstoppable,” he disclosed. Back again: Robert Mboya rejoins Mathare UnitedMeanwhile, the administrator revealed reasons behind their change of name despite still enjoying sponsorship in kind from GDC. “There was a notion that the club is financially stable which is not the case. With the blessings of the company, we decided to rebrand so as to attract more sponsors,” he added.
