Mara Sugar FC have been removed from the FKF’s First Instance Body’s (FIB) sanctions list after submitting the contracts of their technical staff, fulfilling the club licensing requirements.Last Saturday, the FIB had imposed a daily fine of 500 USD (Ksh 64,500) on the Trans-Mara-based club for failing to submit contracts for key staff positions, including the head coach, assistant coach, fitness coach, goalkeeper coach, and team manager.##NAJAVA_MECA_8305144##This move, a first of its kind, reflects the FIB’s efforts to enforce stricter professional standards in the management of clubs across the country, as directed by the continental football governing body, CAF.“Mara Sugar FC were granted their license but with sanctions. The club failed to submit amended contracts for key staff positions, including the head coach, assistant coach, fitness coach, goalkeeper coach, and team manager. The FIB decided to grant the club its license with sanctions for the failure to submit the required documents,” read part of the statement from the FIB.“Consequently, Mara Sugar FC faces a sanction of USD 100 for each outstanding contract, totaling USD 500 per day, effective from August 23, 2024, until the club submits the required contracts,” the statement continued. On the same day as the announcement, Mara appointed George Midenyo as their head coach. He oversaw a 3-0 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz, and since then, the club has submitted all required contracts, bringing the daily fines to an end.Muranga Seal’s Michael Owen sets season’s target after surreal 2023-24 debut campaign”We’ve resolved everything, and now our fans have every reason to smile moving forward,” said Gilbert Ledama, the club’s team manager, in an interview with Mozzart Sport.”These were just teething problems since we didn’t face such issues in the National Super League. We did our best to address them promptly, but unfortunately, we couldn’t finalize everything on time, leading to the fines. However, I’m glad to say that all is now well—no more registration issues,” Ledama explained.Ledama also discussed the team’s win over Homeboyz in their maiden top-flight game. While he was pleased with the triumph, he noted areas for improvement.”We kicked off the season with a strong win, but we also identified areas that need improvement. That’s what we’ll be focusing on before our next game against Bandari FC. The goal is to get better with each game as we continue to settle into the league,” he added.6 Tactical Trends From FKF Premier League Matchweek OneWhen asked if he believes Mara can go all the way and win the league this season, Ledama was quick to downplay such expectations, emphasizing that their primary goal is to retain their top-flight status with a top ten finish.”I’m not saying our goal is to win the league, but if we can, why not? Our primary aim is to avoid relegation, establish ourselves in the league, and then set more ambitious targets next season. A top-ten finish this season would be satisfactory, but the main objective is to avoid relegation. To achieve this, we need to perform strongly in the first leg so we can be in a good position, then set new goals for the second leg,” Ledama stated. He concluded by noting that this season will be a learning experience for both the team and the club’s hierarchy.”We have a solid playing unit, but most of them are debuting in the league, so it’s a learning process for them as players and for us as a club. As management, we’re also learning, and we believe that good things will come out of this club,” he concluded.Mara Sugar will travel to Mombasa to play Bandari FC after the international break.Stars Abroad: Wanyama watches from the bench as Montreal suffers another humiliation
