Soy United are elated to see their young goalkeeper, Sammy Saboke, join AFC Leopards, but chairman Edwin Chahilu observes that clubs need to benefit more from the talents they produce.Saboke makes the move after helping the Kakamega County-based team earn promotion to the third tier of Kenyan football through playoffs held in Eldoret. The team, once in the National Super League, had fallen to the fourth tier within two years but is now working its way back up.##NAJAVA_MECA_8322977##Saboke signed a contract with Leopards last week after several weeks of training with the Tomas Trucha-led team. He replaces Maxwell Mulili, who opted to leave and join Shabana FC. Unfortunately, FKF regulations cap the development fee at Ksh. 15,000,” he adds. The club is developing a new mechanism to better benefit from transfers for both the club and the player, although Chahilu did not provide details on these developments. “Starting this season, we have implemented standard contracts. These contracts ensure both the player and the club receive signing bonuses and revenue, providing mutual benefits,” he explains.Saboke becomes Leopards’ fifth signing of the season, following Julius Masaba, Samuel Semo, Peter Manyang Mabok Maker, and Sydney Lokale.Leopards started the season strongly with a 4-0 win over Mathare United in their opening game.
