The transfer window in England has long since closed, but the market remains open for free agents. Championship side Luton Town took advantage of this and signed a high-profile reinforcement. The newest addition to the Hatters is Victor Moses. The experienced Nigerian joined as a free agent after his contract with Spartak Moscow expired and signed a deal until the end of the season.Luton confirm Victor Moses has joined on a free transfer after leaving Spartak Moscow.🇳🇬 🗣️ Moses: “I want to come here and enjoy my football, work hard for the club and for the team, and get back to where we belong in the Premier League.” pic.twitter.com/4GU7EQBUIu— Ben Jacobs (@JacobsBen) September 10, 2024 “He’s someone who can really bring us quality. He’s played for so many different clubs under so many different managers, so he can contribute a lot tactically,” said Luton manager Rob Edwards. Moses started his career at Crystal Palace, where he played for two and a half years in the Championship, before moving to Wigan in the Premier League for another two and a half years. In the summer of 2012, Chelsea bought him from Wigan, but after just one season, he was sent out on loan. First to Liverpool, then to Stoke, and finally to West Ham.Welcome to Luton Town Victor Moses 🇳🇬 🎩Here’s what our new signing can do ⚡️🚀#LTFC #COYH @VictorMoses pic.twitter.com/iVUIw9ZX9K— OK Football (@OKFootballShow) September 10, 2024 His career took a turn when Antonio Conte arrived at Chelsea. The Nigerian impressed the Italian during pre-season and secured a spot in the starting lineup in the season when the Blues won their last Premier League title. He was a regular under Conte for two years, but after the Italian’s departure, Moses became surplus at Stamford Bridge again. He went on loan to Fenerbahçe, which was cut short after a year when Conte called him again. The Italian brought him to Inter, where he spent six months before being loaned to Spartak Moscow.Obi Mikel reveals his involvement in a Osimhen – Chelsea dealThe Russian club bought him for 5,000,000 euros after a year, and he played there for another three years, until this June when his contract expired. He didn’t receive many attractive offers and eventually accepted a return to the Championship after 15 years of top-flight football, joining a Luton side that currently sits poorly in the table with just one point after four rounds. Born in Nigeria, Moses represented England youth teams at under-16, under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels, but opted to play for Nigeria and made his debut in 2012. He earned 38 caps and scored 12 times for the Super Eagles before retiring from international matches in 2018.UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE – GROUP STAGETue 19:00: (2.10) Latvia (3.20) Faroe I.
