The Musiala ‘case‘ suddenly appears in Munich

Even when nothing specially happens in Munich, Bayern always somehow ends up in the newspapers, and not because they are the biggest club in Germany with the most titles won. Last season it was all about Thomas Tuchel and the lost title for the first time in 12 years. Then, in the off season, it was the drama about the new coach, as more then four managers turned down the Bavarians before they settled with Vincent Kompany. And now, after a perfect start of the season, they are in the spotlight, this time over their future star – Jamal Musiala.🗣️ Vincent Kompany on Jamal Musiala: “Jamal has the potential to be one of the top 3 players in the world. He shouldn’t change anything and should carry on. We are happy to have him at the club.” pic.twitter.com/wyJis0GSz9— Bayern & Football (@MunichFanpage) September 13, 2024 To be perfectly clear, the young German international is quite alight, he is the core of new Bayern Munich and Germany national team (along with Florian Wirtz), but he has been a subject of a heavy criticizm from former Bayern and Liverpool midfielder and that subject aggravated the Bavarians, that they used their press conference ahead of the Kiel match to it.“Musiala is more of a solo player and often a solo entertainer. If he gets the ball ten times, he puts his head down nine times and starts dribbling. With Musiala you can play successful football, but if you look at the past few years, Bayern were mostly dependent on individual actions. That also has something to do with Musiala. Apart from him, there is hardly a player in the number ten position in world football who is a pure one-on-one player. The flow of the game also suffers as a result. If I could swap Wirtz and Musiala from Bayern’s point of view, I would do it tomorrow. Wirtz is a player who can put Boniface, Frimpong or Adli in the spotlight“ said Ditmar Hamann, former Bayern player and now Sky Sports Germany pundit.Next Gen Germany faces a real task against the Dutch teamNeedles to say, the Bavarians were furious. Everybody else is praising the youngster, the media in England are criticizing Chelsea for letting him leave and here is former Liverpool player who is criticizing him.“I’ve already experienced one or two players and Jamal should just carry on as he is and not change anything. We are happy to have him. He can become one of the three to four best players in the world” said coach Vincent Kompany at the press conference.Former Bayern player doesn’t see the Bavarians as the championsThe Munich brass see Musiala as the new star, the new ‘untouchable‘ player like Muller, Neuer, Kimmich and Goretzka were before him and they even intend to give him a new improved contract, so sports director Christoph Freund was quick to defend Musiala.“So why is he being criticized? I find it a bit absurd and far-fetched to think that someone has such an opinion. In other countries, such young players with such potential would be highly praised and you would be grateful to have such players for your country. We at FC Bayern are extremely lucky to have such a player with us. Jamal Musiala is a world-class player, a truly exceptional player. Jamal is a player that fans go to the stadium to see because of the way he plays football. He can decide games, he is an absolute team player. He is an exceptional player. He can become one of the best players in the world. Both FC Bayern and Germany can count themselves lucky to have him in their ranks“ he said.BUNDESLIGA – MATCHDAY 3Friday Dortmund – Heidenheim 4-2 (3-1)/Malen 11, Adeyemi 17, 41, Can 90+3 pen – Pieringer 39, Breunig 74 pen/Saturday16.30: (2.85) M’ gladbach (3.60) Stuttgart (2.35)16.30: (1.70) Freiburg (4.00) Bochum (4.80)16.30: (5.80) Hoffenheim (4.30) Leverkusen (1.55)16.30: (1.50) RB Leipzig (4.40) Union Berlin (7.50)16.30: (2.85) Wolfsburg (3.50) Eintr.Frankfurt (2.60)19.30: (11.0) Holstein Kiel (6.75) Bayern (1.23)Sunday 16.30: (2.05) Augsburg (3.45) St.Pauli (3.60)18.30: (2.10) Mainz (3.50) Werder (3.80)***odds are subject to change***
