Guinea ace saves Borussia in a six-goals thriller

This is not looking good. Borussia Dortmund really tried in the June transfer window, brought in some good players, changed the coach but the outcome is worrying. Yes, the BVB won tonight (as expected) against lowly Bochum 4-2. but whoever watched the game knows how hard this win was and rookie coach Nuri Sahin must get this team in order as soon as possible as big games (and teams) are yet to come. Borussia allowed nine goals in last three Bundesliga games and it could have been even more easily. Even the team as week as Bochum‘s managed two goals easily and had two more great chances. If Monaco‘s loanee Boadu had enough concentration in the 30th minute, this game would ended differently, but he missed the entire goal while his team had a shocking 2-0 lead and allowed Borussia to mount a comeback. After a humiliation in Stuttgart, coach Nuri Sahin moved Süle and Nmecha to the bench, while Sabitzer was injured so Couto, Can and Gittens started the match, but that didn‘t help much. Even with another coach and two new players in defense, Dortmund still has the same problem – defense. That was evident in the 5-1 demolition in Stuttgart (it should have been 7-1) and they irritated their own fans who shook their head for most of the first half. It was Boadu‘s miss and Guirassy‘s brace which resolved this match. The Guinea international scored the first and the third goal, while he was brought down in the penalty area, which resulted in the equalizing goal.It should have been 2-0 for Dortmund after 14 minutes of tonight’s game. But since both Adeyemi and Brandt missed their great chances, it was 2-0 but for the guests after only 20 minutes. In both situations, keeper Gregor Kobel was the guilty party, especially for the second goal. When Bero scored in 16th minute, after a good one-two with Hofmann, his shot from distance ended in Kobel‘s closer angle, and the feeling is that he should have been better in this situation. The second goal was a disgrace, as Kobel waited too long to pass the ball in his penalty area and allowed Boadu to steal the ball and pass it to de Wit, who put the ball into an empty net. Bochum knew they can‘t win the possession battle with Borussia so they played on counter-attack (that‘s how they scored) and were very good in defense. Brandt had a similar situation as Boadu minutes later (but he was more to the left) and also missed the whole goal to the dismay of the packed Westfalen. But he assisted Guirassy in the 44th minute with a good cross and the Guinea striker gave his teammates a lifeline.Passlack probably saved the goal with this great block after Gross‘ shot in the 56th minute, but in the 62nd, he brought down Guirassy in the penalty area and Can didn‘t made a mistake: 2-2. The former Stuttgart striker continued his involvement in this game with another goal which finally gave the home team the advantage 15 minutes from time, before Nmecha scored the fourth goal in the 81st minute.BUNDESLIGA – MATCHDAY 5FridayDortmund – Bochum 4-2 (1-2)/Guirassy 44, Can 62(p), 75, Nmecha 81 – Bero 16, de Wit 21/Saturday16:30: (2.20) M’ gladbach (3.50) Union Berlin (3.45)16:30: (1.62) Freiburg (3.80) St.Pauli (5.80)16:30: (1.85) Mainz (3.50) Heidenheim (4.40)16:30: (1.45) RB Leipzig (4.50) Augsburg (7.00)16:30: (3.15) Wolfsburg (3.50) Stuttgart (2.20)19:30: (1.80) Bayern (4.00) Leverkusen (4.50)Sunday16:30: (4.90) Holstein Kiel (3.90) Eintr.Frankfurt (1.70)18:30: (2.35) Hoffenheim (3.60) Werder (2.85)***odds are subject to change***
