Former international Macdonald Mariga is set to be unveiled as a candidate in the up-coming Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections.Mariga, a former Inter-Milan midfielder, will be a running mate to Presidential candidate Hussein Mohamed.According to those organizing the unveiling, it will be done early next week and they believe that the former international’s entry into the political ring will boost Mohammed’s chances of clinching the top seat.“Given his experience in football and international experience, he brings a lot to Hussein’s camp. Technicalities that may lock Hussein Mohammed from contesting for FKF electionsIn a statement, Nyamweya said the short time between when the board was unveiled and when the process will be held violates Fifa statutes.He argued that according to Fifa statutes, there should be a six months difference between the two processes.
