Vihiga United still remain unbeaten in the National Super League (NSL) but behind the scenes, the team is undergoing a tough time.Coach Edward Manoah has opened up on how financial constraints are affecting the players to the extent of borrowing boots on matchdays.Speaking after his side managed to pull a barren draw against Kibera Black Stars on Sunday at Hope Center, Manoah revealed the team arrived a few hours before the 3pm fixture and were happy to have picked a draw away.##NAJAVA_MECA_8397714##“We are happy with the one point considering the underlying factors. We arrived just hours before the match and even before that, we have not been training as regularly as we would want to due to financial constraints. It has almost been impossible to train regularly and sometimes we meet for just three days a week or not at all,” he said.He believed the team would have picked all points on Sunday had they trained throughout the preceding week.“We should have done better but our attack was sluggish. Our players were not thinking quickly and lost balls in good areas though defensively we did well. Hopefully we can have more sessions and stabilize our performance, ” he said.CONFIRMED: Barry Otieno resigns as FKF CEOFor the match against Kibera Black Stars, Manoah revealed they had to borrow 12 pairs of boots from Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Kakamega Homeboyz.“We are grateful for Homeboyz for coming through for us and lending us their boots since they did not have any match at the weekend,” he said.Manoah is now pleading with well-wishers to come on board and support the team to do well in their remaining matches.Sofapaka open to Matano’s exit amid Coastal Union talks“We have had a few friends supporting us but it has become overwhelming for them.
