When you mention the word ’Piacenza’ in Italy, many players will look at you with a smile. Well, ex players and now coaches like Filippo Inzaghi, Simone Inzaghi, Alberto Gilardino or Enzo Maresca will certainly be among them. This small football club was a Serie A regular until 2003, when they were relegated to Serie B. Nine years later, they went bankcrupt and were relegated futher down. In mid-2013, amateur club Lupa Piacenza was renamed Piacenza Calcio 1919 in order to preserve the history of Piacenza FC and in 2023 they were relegated to Serie D, a fourth league. With a 105-year history and the 21.000 capacity stadium, it’s sad to see such a club in a semi-proffesional league. And not only that. They recently came to the forefront of the media reports, again for the wrong reasons – they managed to change three coaches in a single day!Inter spends most on players in Serie A, but Vlahovic is the most paid playerPiacenza started the season in Serie D, Girone D, but soon decided to sack coach Stefano Rossini. He was releived of his duty on October 7th and hired Carmine Parlato. The new manager failed to meet the expectations, so he was fired as well, along with the sports director Alessio Sestu, on November 20th. Simone Bentivoglio was called for the rescue, but then the fans stepped in. He held one training session, which was interrupted by an angry fan protest that saw them invade the ground and demand that he be dismissed, threatening to boycott all matches. They were furious because Bentivoglio had been involved in a gambling scandal in 2011, where he accepted a plea bargain of a 13-month ban. Bentivoglio was in charge for barely a couple of hours before the club accepted this was not going to work and terminated his contract by mutual consent. The day was not over yet when Piazenca directors hired the third coach of the day – Stefano Rossini, the same one which was sacked in October.SERIE A – MATCHDAY 13Saturday17:00: (8.50) Verona (4.80) Inter (1.38)20:00: (2.30) Milan (3.35) Juventus (3.40)21:45: (5.00) Parma (3.90) Atalanta (1.67)Sunday14:30: (2.65) Genoa (3.20) Cagliari (2.95)17:00: (3.05) Como (3.25) Fiorentina (2.40)17:00: (2.10) Torino (3.20) Monza (4.20)20:00: (1.80) Napoli (3.60) Roma (5.10)22:45: (1.95) Lazio (3.50) Bologna (4.40)Monday20:30: (2.80) Empoli (3.05) Udinese (2.95)22:45: (2.35) Venezia (3.40) Lecce (3.25)***odds are subject to change***
