Sports Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Wednesday launched a training camp for 3,000 talented youths across nine disciplines.The camp, organized by the Kenya Academy of Sports (KAS) in partnership with various federations, will run for two weeks and is being held in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Eldoret.##NAJAVA_MECA_8547495##Speaking during the launch, Murkomen said this initiative is part of his ministry’s efforts to develop pathways for talent development from junior to senior levels.“This is the kind of synergy the taskforce we recently formed to review our sports policy and the Sports Act 2013 is charged with delivering,” he said.Murkomen added, “This will ensure that sports and education do not have to be mutually exclusive but complement each other to build strong careers and catapult our country to its rightful place.”During the camp, participants will undergo intensive training in various sports, including athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, rugby, hockey, tennis, table tennis, and chess.
