Red-hot forward Ryan Wesley Ogam marked his 20th birthday in style as he found the back of the net to inspire Tusker to a 3-1 win over ten-man Posta Rangers, in their final league clash of the year staged, at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Ogam kissed the back of the net in the first half to help the former champions come from behind and collect the three points which sent the club to the summit of the FKF Premier League log, pending the outcome of the other matches lined up in the day. The goal also saw the youngster, who is arguably the best signing of the off-season transfer window, take his tally to 13 in the campaign. Tusker had to break a sweat for the three points as Posta broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute through budding left back Ivan Ochieng, who capitalised on loss to concentration to head home from close range. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8586120##The lead lasted for a minute as the most-dreaded striker in the competition responded for Tusker, connecting a lovely cutback from Thomas Omole. Interestingly, Ochieng was at fault for the goal as he was dispossessed by Omole on the edge of the box before the former Vihiga Bullets man squared the ball to Ogam, whose left-footed effort easily beat Bixente Otieno. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8586120##Five minutes later, Otieno failed to deal with a corner by Dennis Wanjala and was punished by the unmarked Thomas Teka, who headed the ball to the back of the net. There was an improvement shown by Posta in the initial stages of the second half, but Tusker recovered from the rather sluggish start, offering answers to the questions from the hosts. Posta’s push for an equalizer suffered a massive blow in the 78th minute after Otieno saw red for a last-man tackle on Omole.Former AFC Leopards forward Ezekiel Otuoma passes awayThe young goalkeeper had been forced out of his territory but in his rush to stop the goal-bound Omole, he missed the ball and collided with the opponent. The incident saw medics from either side swing into action as both players needed attention following the heavy collision and landing. After receiving first aid, Otieno was served with his marching orders from centre referee Isaac Hamisi although he left the pitch with the aid of a stretcher. Police coach Ndayiragije downplays FKF title talks after impressive runPosta coach Benard Kawinzi reacted to the red card by throwing in Kevin Opiyo in goal with Felix Oluoch, who had come in the 64th minute, being sacrificed. The slender hopes of the Mailmen salvaging at least a point went up in air as Charles Momanyi netted the third goal for Tusker in the 86th minute.Momanyi made good use of his height as he towered over Vincent Wasambo to head in a cross by Yusuf Mainge to the nearest post. While Tusker will be happy to have scaled to the top, the Posta bench will certainly be under pressure to turn fortunes around in January as the club is placed at the bottom of the log with eleven points.
