Nyaudo terms weekend win as new beginning for Ulinzi

Ulinzi Stars head coach Danstun Nyaudo has claimed that his club has started a new beginning after bringing to an end their seven-game winless streak with a win over Nairobi City Stars.The military side hosted Simba wa Nairobi in a FKF Premier match at Dandora Stadium on Sunday 22 December, coming from behind to emerge 2-1 victors.FKFPL: Ulinzi Stars end seven-game winless run with win over City StarsCity Stars took the lead through Kevin Etemesi in the 31st minute but Amatton Samunya drew the soldiers level in the second minute of first half added time to ensure a stalemate at half time.In the second half, Brian Kafero headed home a Boniface Muchiri corner to give Ulinzi a lead that they kept until the final whistle.Speaking after the match, Nyaudo termed the win as a new beginning for the 2010 league champions.Date for when Nyayo Stadium will be CHAN-ready revealed“The players played exactly how we planned to play the match. I am grateful for the win. We have started a new beginning. It is a new phase for us,” said Nyaudo.The Warrant Officer Class 1 welcomed the win, but still rued the chances his side has been failing to convert to goals.“We have been playing well all the time but we have always been unlucky. It’s all for the three points. I decided to copy that and it worked,” he concluded.The win took Ulinzi to 15th position and away from the relegation zone ahead of their next fixture against Kariobangi Sharks on Saturday 4 January 2025.
