After graduating with the CAF C coaching license, former Kenyan international Edwin Lavatsa is determined to upgrade as he seeks to score his biggest goal off the pitch by coaching record champions Gor Mahia.Lavatsa was among the 30 coaches who graduated with the C license in a ceremony held at the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) on 19 December.According to information on the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) website, the CAF C license requires a minimum of two months of coursework, followed by a two-year practice period before one is admitted to the B class.Lavatsa, who currently serves as the Kibera Black Stars head coach in the National Super League (NSL) told Mozzart Sport that his long-term goal remains advancing to the A level and subsequently, applying for the coaching job at Gor Mahia.##NAJAVA_MECA_8598288##The former striker had his career breakthrough at Gor slightly over a decade ago, wowing fans with his superb dribbling skills and eye for the goal.His form at Gor would procure him a move to Algerian side MC Algiers in January 2014 and was instrumental in getting him to the national team.Madada counting on first Harambee Stars call up to open bigger doorsAn experienced Lavatsa would return to K’Ogalo in July 2020 but did not last long at the club as he left for FC Talanta.In the spirit of giving back to the outfit that thrust his name and talent to the world, Lavatsa intends to build his coaching profile and help Gor realize massive success in the CAF Champions League.“I wish to coach Gor Mahia one day. The goal has always been to come back to the club as a coach and win continental titles.
