Kasarani, Nyayo Stadia progress 24 days to hosting of CHAN [PHOTOS]

The Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani which is set to host the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) is continuing to undergo renovations, seven days after the expiry of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) deadline.Kasarani and Nyayo Stadia have been earmarked as venues for the tournament that is scheduled for Saturday 1 February to Friday 28 February 2025 while Police Sacco Stadium, Kasarani Annex and Ulinzi Sports Complex will be used as training grounds.Gor Mahia to use new stadium for home matchesTo make the facilities ready, Kasarani was closed in December 2023 while Nyayo was shut in August 2024 to pave the way for renovations in readiness for CHAN as well as the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).In the latest photos shared by former Sports CS Kipchumba Murkomen on his Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) accounts, works at Kasarani Stadium are still ongoing seven days after the lapse of the CAF deadline.##NAJAVA_MECA_8619988##From the photos, works on the terraces are still ongoing as chairs are yet to be fixed all around the stadium as is required by CAF.One of the other areas that CAF had instructed the country to work on was a canopy around the whole stadium.
