The renovations at Kasarani Stadium continue to take place with the contractor working day and night in order to make the facility ready ahead of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).Kenya won the rights to co-host the continental tournament that is only designed for players playing in their national league competitions alongside neighbours Uganda and Tanzania.##NAJAVA_MECA_8618390##While Uganda and Tanzania already had CAF approved stadiums, Kenya lacked one prompting the government to close Kasarani and Nyayo Stadiums for upgrading, as well as begin the construction of a brand new Talanta City.With CHAN set to begin on Saturday 1 February 2025, Mozzart Sport has in its possession a video of the current state of the stadium as shared by Rhymaholic in his X (formerly Twitter) account.I managed to shoot a video of the ongoing renovation and upgrade of Kasarani Stadium. Unlike in the past, all the seats will have back rests.The public washrooms have also been renovated and ready for use by fans in the tournament.Rhymaholic did not gain access to the dressing rooms, but in previous photos shared by CS Kipchumba Murkomen, the dressing rooms are complete and ready for use.Kasarani, Nyayo Stadia progress 24 days to hosting of CHAN [PHOTOS]Elsewhere, Nyayo National Stadium got the nod to host the tournament after the CAF inspection team were satisfied with the state of the stadium during their inspection tour on Wednesday 8 January 2025.The CAF delegation led by Director of Competitions Samson Adamu also visited Kirigiti Stadium in Kiambu County, Police Sacco Stadium in South C, and Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata which will all be used as training grounds.
