Arsenal players to pay tribute to Jesus

The problems don‘t stop for Arsenal. This season is at its half but the Gunners have already been depleted with injuries. Almost every member of the first 11 has been injured (or suspended) so far and coach Mikel Arteta needs to rotate the squad on a weekly bases. Some parts of the team (like right back for example) are so thin, that the Ghana international Thomas Partey cannot remember when was the last time he played as a midfielder and not right back. But the biggest problem is surely the absence of a proper, old school striker. The classing ‘number 9‘ has been the biggest need for the Gunners not only this, but also a couple of seasons before this one as well. Not only that Areta and Edu failed to bring a proper striker, but they have one player less at the postition. It was confirmed that Gabriel Jesus sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the Manchester United game in the FA Cup and that he is out for the season.Wounded giants face vengeance seekers in another North London DerbyAccording to Daily Mail, the Brazilian forward is a very popular figure in the locker room and his teammates decided to wear specially designed shirts ahead of this evening’s derby showdown against Tottenham. It is understood the shirts would carry Jesus’ name, his squad number 9 and a ‘get well soon‘ message. Arsenal confirmed the injury of their Brazilian international.“Further to being substituted with an injury during our match with Manchester United on Sunday, Gabriel Jesus has received extensive assessments, scans and specialist reviews which have confirmed that he has sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Gabby will undergo surgery in the coming days and will soon begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme. We will continue to keep everyone updated with Gabby’s recovery, with everyone at the club fully focused on supporting Gabby to ensure he is back to full fitness as soon as possible“ reads the Gunners‘ statement.Jesus’ Calvary: Arsenal lose their striker due to a horrible injuryENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 21Tuesday Brentford – Man.City 2-2 (0-0)/Wissa 82, Norgaard 90+2 – Foden 66, 78/Chelsea – Bournemouth (1-0)/Palmer 13, James 90+5 – Kluivert 50 (p), Semenyo 68/West Ham – Fulham 3-2 (2-0)/Soler 31, Soucek 33, Paqueta 67 – Iwobi 51, 78/Nott.Forest – Liverpool 1-1 (1-0)/Wood 8 – Jota 66/Wednesday 22.30: (3.20) Everton (3.40) Aston Villa (2.40)22.30: (3.90) Leicester (3.50) Crystal Palace (1.95)22.30: (1.37) Newcastle (5.10) Wolverhampton (7.75)23.00: (1.45) Arsenal (5.10) Tottenham (7.00)Thursday 22.30: (4.00) Ipswich (3.60) Brighton (2.00)23.00: (1.30) Man.Utd.
