Mariga addresses issue of players player going months without pay

As the majority of local clubs struggle to pay players’ salaries, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has promised to resolve the issue to ensure that players are motivated to give their best.This is especially critical as the country hosts the Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) in August, a competition exclusively reserved for players who feature in the local league.##NAJAVA_MECA_8632809##According to FKF deputy president Macdonald Mariga, they will initiate dialogue with affected teams to ensure that all owed arrears are paid.“We have just completed one month in office, and this is an issue we are determined to address. We want the players to be motivated so that they can give their best to the national team when called upon, and therefore, the arrears have to be paid,” he said.Mariga’s remarks came just hours after the Kenya Football Welfare Association (KEFWA) raised concerns about clubs failing to honor contractual obligations.
