The story between Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus will be over soon. Now or in the June, it doesn’t matter and it’s inevitable. The Serbian striker and Juventus have never been further apart, and both sides are looking for ways to minimize the damage from the separation. As of today, Chelsea is once again a potential destination for Vlahovic.Would you like to see Vlahovic at Chelsea ? pic.twitter.com/SZGhJ4ivV0— THE CHELSEA FORUM (@TheChelseaForum) January 20, 2025 The Times reports that the club from Stamford Bridge is once again in the running to sign the Serbian striker. The same story circulated in the June of 2023 when the two clubs were in negotiations. However, they didn’t reach an agreement. Juventus was asking for Romelu Lukaku and 40 milion euros for Vlahovic, while Chelsea offered the Belgian striker plus 20,000,000 fixed and 5,000,000 in bonuses. Juventus rejected the offer, Lukaku could no longer wait and moved to Roma, while Vlahovic stayed at Juventus.Since then, his relationship with the club has worsened. He has struggled in the decadent football under Max Allegri, but things didn’t improve with the arrival of Thiago Motta either. Part of the blame also lies with the club, as the Serbian striker (still) remains the only forward in the team, aside from the injury-prone Milik. However, it’s undeniable that he costs the club a lot. This is Vlahovic’s shot chart in Serie A, Champions League and Europa League the last three years. It’s a big sample and he looks like a player you can potentially say with confidence is not a good finisher. https://t.co/J61FGyg20u pic.twitter.com/O2YTM95ajy— Scott Willis (@scottjwillis) January 14, 2025 Now, Chelsea has reappeared as a potential destination. The Blues have Nicolas Jackson and young Marc Guiu as their center-forward options. Enzo Maresca has often used Christopher Nkunku, who is not a natural striker, as Jackson’s alternative, and Bayern has shown interest in him. Chelsea is asking for 70 millions for Nkunku, and if they sell him, they could go after Vlahovic. They might even have to, as other targets like Kolo Muani or Marmush have disappeared, and some like Gyokeres are too expensive.Chelsea and Bayern swapping players? An alleviating factor in the negotiations between the two clubs could be Renato Veiga, a Portuguese player who arrived from Basel for 14,000,000 last June. He is unhappy with being pushed to play as a left-back by Maresca and wants to play as a center-back, planning to leave Chelsea this January. Juventus has been unsuccessfully searching for a center-back for weeks (Ronald Araujo, Antonio Silva, Fikayo Tomori, David Hancko…), so Veiga has emerged as a top option. Borussia Dortmund also wants him on loan and has reached a verbal agreement with him. However, Chelsea is unwilling to let him go on loan; they want to sell him directly. That has been the plan until the end of the January transfer window. If Chelsea offers Juventus money plus Veiga for Vlahovic, negotiations this winter might end successfully, unlike in the June of 2023.UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ROUND 7Tuesday20:45: (2.55) AS Monaco (3.50) Aston Villa (2.85)20:45: (1.22) Atalanta (6.50) Sturm Graz (12.0)23:00: (2.40) Atlético Madrid (3.45) Bayer Leverkusen (3.15)23:00: (3.10) Benfica (4.00) Barcelona (2.20)23:00: (3.40) Bologna (3.50) Borussia Dortmund (2.25)23:00: (3.30) Club Brugge (3.30) Juventus (2.25)23:00: (4.50) Crvena zvezda (4.05) PSV (1.80)23:00: (1.30) Liverpool (6.50) Lille (10.0)23:00: (10.0) Slovan Bratislava (6.50) Stuttgart (1.25)***odds are subject to change***
