How former Kariobangi Sharks winger intends to cure language barrier in France

Immediate former Kariobangi Sharks winger Paul Jawa will enroll for French classes from next week as he seeks to blend in well at his new club, FC Fleury 91.Sharks reaped returns on the investment they made in Jawa, before the start of the season, as they sold the South Sudanese winger to the French club slightly over a week ago. Although the financial details of the highly-publicised move remain scanty, Sharks are believed to have pocketed millions before letting the young winger go. Before Sharks reached an agreement with Fleury, South Sudan champions El Merreikh Bentiu tabled bid for Jawa but impeccable sources indicate that the club did not meet the valuation set by Sharks. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8736960##Jawa, in an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sport, highlighted language barrier as the biggest challenge he had been grappling with since setting foot in France. This is not the first time the youngster is being forced to learn fast as he encountered a similar challenge when he arrived in Kenya in 2016 as a refugee, as he had to learn English and Kiswahili. “Life in France is good I can not complain at all. I am liking the training sessions and how the rest of the team has been since I arrived. The weather is not friendly, but I will adapt. The biggest challenge is language barrier. I have been struggling to communicate with my teammates in training, but I will start my French classes from next week, ” opened up Jawa. Against All Odds: The inspirational journey of Paul Jawa, refugee turned football starJawa fled Juba in 2016 and settled in Kenya at a time when he could only comfortably converse in Arabic. If I did it in Kenya when everything seemed to work against me, I do not think I will struggle to learn,” added Jawa, who praised the club photographer Michael for ensuring that he commutes to training and back in a decent way. Kariobangi Sharks sell winger to French clubMeanwhile, the former Rainbow FC winger hopes that playing football in France will refine him to a lethal forward, as he seeks to help the Bright Stars qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals. The tournament will be staged in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania under the AFCON Pamoja Bid. “My plan is to captain our team and lead a successful hunt for an AFCON ticket in 2027,” added Jawa.
