Manchester derby we want to forget…

Manchester derby is something that we expect to be attractive, fast and full of goals. But, not this time…In a tactical battle at Old Trafford, we saw plenty of stoppages, duels, but almost nothing in terms of clear chances or goals. In fact, there were no goals at all. The game started cautiously and tightly on both sides, and the first real action came in the 11th minute when Phil Foden had a good opportunity to shoot from a promising position—which he did—but the ball went just wide.In the 20th minute, we saw a chance on the other side. Bruno Fernandes delivered a great ball into the box, where Garnacho found himself just five meters from goal, but he got confused and failed to tap the ball in from close range.100% of the shots that Manchester United had in the first 30 minutes vs. Manchester City were either created by or taken by Bruno Fernandes. At the heart of everything his side do. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/uoLffroRwJ— Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) April 6, 2025 As for Manchester United, Patrick Dorgu also had a good chance when he found space on the left flank, again thanks to an assist from Bruno Fernandes. However, his shot was too powerful, sending the ball well over the bar.United kept pushing, and just two minutes later, we saw another opportunity following a good counterattack by the home side, but Ugarte didn’t respond well in front of goal. Before the end of the half, there was one more chance for the visitors when Ilkay Gundogan fired from distance, but it was an easy save for Onana.A cagey first half comes to an end ⏸️#MUFC || #MUNMCI— Manchester United (@ManUtd) April 6, 2025 In the second half, it felt like the game picked up pace—first on Manchester City’s side, and naturally, the home team followed. City had the first notable chance in the 53rd minute with a decent shot, but it was too weak to beat Onana. The hosts had two more good opportunities, both involving Omar Marmoush. First, in the 65th minute, he took a free kick that Onana managed to save. Just four minutes later, the Egyptian fired another shot, and once again, United’s goalkeeper was up to the task.On the other side, United didn’t stay silent either. In the 71st minute, Ugarte had a great chance but shot wide. Then, six minutes later, Zirkzee found himself in a promising position—he connected with a cross from the left wing and struck the ball first-time, but Ederson managed to keep it out.PREMIER LEAGUE – MATCHDAY 31SaturdayEverton – Arsenal 1-1 (0-1)/Ndiaye 49 (p) – Trossard 34/Crystal Palace – Brighton 2-1 (1-1)/Mateta 3, Munoz 55 – Welbeck 31/Ipswich – Wolverhampton 1-2 (1-0)/Delap 16 – Sarabia 72, Larsen 84/West Ham – Bournemouth 2-2 (0-1)/Fullkrug 61, Bowen 68 – Evanilson 38, 79/Aston Villa – Nott.Forest 2-1 (2-0)/Rogers 13, Malen 15 – Jota Silva 57/SundayBrentford – Chelsea 0-0Fulham – Liverpool 3-2 (3-1)/Sessegnon 23, Iwobi 32, Muniz 37 – Mac Allister 14, Diaz 72/Tottenham – Southampton 3-1 (2-0)/Johnson 13, 42, Tel 90+6 – Fernandes 90/Man.
