William Muluya part of 3 red cards flashed as Bandari edge Kariobangi Sharks

Centre referee John Sulwe flashed the red card thrice as Bandari FC edged Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 in an ill-tempered league match staged at Dandora Stadium on Saturday. The lunch hour kick off match, played under the sweltering heat, had its most controversial moment in the closing stages of the first half when Sulwe reached into his left pocket twice and drew the red card. The first recipient was Sharks centre back Timothy Ekhavi, who talked himself into trouble, as he received his marching orders following a second caution.Ekhavi had his name taken, for the first time, in the 29th minute with his dissent, following a yellow card shown to his teammate Biron Otieno, sending him for an early shower.##NAJAVA_MECA_8884692##Sulwe’s decision to send Ekhavi off did not sit well with Sharks players, as they surrounded him in protest, with the technical bench joining them after the halftime whistle was blasted. In a rare display of loss of cool, Sharks head coach William Muluya charged towards Sulwe along with goalkeepers’ trainer Sammy Okinda to make their feelings known. However, Sulwe did not take their charge, temper and dissent lightly, as he showed Muluya the red card with Okinda surviving.Kenya U20 midfielder opens up on Juventus opportunity, career path, ahead of U20 AFCONQuick-thinking Sharks players, led by skipper Kevin Otiala, restrained the infuriated Muluya from possibly charging further closer to the referee, with Okinda still arguing his case.Sharks kit manager Paul Otieno, along with the club’s head of security, wheeled into the action area on the pitch to crawfish Okinda away from the officials.Bandari striker Beja Nyamawi also saw red late in the second half after recklessly earning himself his second caution of the day. Having been booked in the 12th minute, Nyamawi lost his mind and booted the ball, in a bid to stop a quick restart by Sharks, forcing Sulwe to do the needful. Kenya U20 captain’s message to fans ahead of U20 AFCONBefore the moment of madness in the final moments of the first half, the two teams were tied at 1-1 with Bandari breaking the deadlock in the fourth minute.Facing his former employers, veteran striker John Mark Makwata needed less than five minutes to demonstrate his marksmanship skills, as he gave Bandari the lead to open his goal account at the club. Sharks replied five minutes later through winger Stephen Bwire, who took his season’s league goal tally to two. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8884600##With the numerical advantage on their side, Bandari controlled the proceedings in the second half, with Alfred Tanui striking the winning goal in the 73rd minute. The result certainly relieves substantial pressure off the shoulders of Bandari head coach Kennedy Odhiambo, given that his job was on the line heading to the clash. Earlier in the week, Bandari boss Tony Kibwana told Mozzart Sport that Odhiambo would be relieved of his duties in the event of a loss to Sharks. Posta Rangers 3-2 Murang’a SealCAF CC: Brian Mandela’s Stellenbosch target historic comeback against Simba in deciding second-legElsewhere, Murang’a Seal complicated their chances of surviving after falling 3-2 to Posta Rangers at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.Vincent Wasambo, Felix Oluoch and Brian Marita were on target for Posta, with Michael Owen and Joe Waithira netting for Seal.
