Osimhen to Manchester or Chelsea…or neither

As we get closer to May and the end of the season in European football, Victor Osimhen is slowly getting more and more attention. The Nigerian striker had a great season in Galatasaray with 31 goals in 36 appearances and he is coming back to Napoli when his loan runs out. Since the Neapolitans are not counting on him and want to cash on the Nigerian, (his contract ends in 2026), his final destination shouldn’t be a problem. Big clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all need a proper striker so he fits in. But different sources are giving totally different version of the same story – where will Osimhen end.John Mikel Obi talking about Victor Osimhen. pic.twitter.com/4MEFfw4PHL— Frank Khalid OBE (@FrankKhalidUK) April 28, 2025 Let’s start with his favorite team – Chelsea. For two years now his former Nigerian international is advocating his transfer to the Blues. And again he spoke about Osimhen, but he was not so certain this time about his arrival. It seems that Chelsea are finally caught in their own overspending and are having difficulties with his contract.“He wants to play for Chelsea. I hope he’ll be playing somewhere in the Premier League. I know where we stopped in terms of the contract, I know where we are. It’s an easy fix, because we’ve done all the hard work last summer. It’s so easy to just pick it up and then the deal is done. This guy does what he does best, scores goals, and that’s what we’ve lacked this season. We don’t score enough, and that’s why we’re where we are today. With Osimhen, that’s what he does” he told beIN Sports.Napoli plan to deal with Osimhen ‘as soon as possible‘Then there is Manchester United. With only three goals in the Premier League between themselves, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are hardly a formidable attackers. But with a potential 62 million pounds deal for Matheus Cunha, it’s hard to imagine United giving around 50 million to Osimhen, while there are other positions which are needed to fill. But still, the Telegraph reports that the club is negotiating with the Nigerian while adding that Chelsea have dropped out of the race for the top striker, apparently because of the “doubts about the Nigerian’s attitude”.Two Bundesliga stars on Manchester’s shortlistBut, if you read GIVEMESPORTS, the discussion have broken down. The reason? United are reluctant to meet Osimhen’s 300,000 pounds-a-week wage demands and feel that Liam Delap is younger, cheaper (release clause 30 million euros) and not looking for an enormous wage. And for the end, let’s go back to Obi Mikel, who indirectly talked about Manchester United and Osimhen. The Nigerian has played in either the Champions League or Europa League every season since signing for Lille in 2019. So, if United fail to win the Europa League, he won’t be coming.”If that’s the case, then he doesn’t go to United” said Obi Mikel. ##NAJAVA_MECA_8883731##
