Finally – Harry Kane has won a trophy!

Leverkusen’s draw in the shadow of the Black Forest (2–2) — tremors felt from Munich to Dortmund! The epicenter was at Europa-Park, of course, because Freiburg somewhat improved its chances of reaching the Champions League in the fall (for the first time in club history). But the ground is shaking no less in Bavaria and around Westphalia. To summarize: Bayern, thanks to Leverkusen’s 11th draw of the season — and the only real contender slipping up — has secured the return of the Bundesliga trophy to its cabinet (the club’s 34th title overall, and 12th in the last 13 years). Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund, despite three consecutive wins, now has slimmer chances of finishing in the top four than it did yesterday, even after its victory over Wolfsburg. To be fair, things could’ve been much worse for the Black and Yellows; if Freiburg had held out for just sixty more seconds, Niko Kovač’s side would have been left three points behind. But as it happened, Jonathan Tah scored in the 90+3 minute to snatch victory away from the hosts and soften Dortmund’s setback.Harry Kane and Eric Dier are celebrating their first trophy together 🏆 pic.twitter.com/jVyRD6kfG4— Bayern & Football (@MunichFanpage) May 4, 2025 After last night’s 3–3 draw in Saxony, it seemed like the title party might be postponed until next weekend. And there’s one person who wouldn’t have minded that at all — Harry Kane, of course. But the English striker is so eager that it’s almost unbelievable. We’d bet he wasn’t even particularly upset when Yussuf Poulsen, deep in stoppage time yesterday, struck the net and took three points out of his team’s pocket. Kane watched it all from the sidelines, unable to play due to suspension, so he would’ve celebrated winning the title essentially as a “civilian.” That late Leipzig goal kept his hopes alive of being back on the pitch to properly celebrate against Monchengladbach next round — but then today’s events unfolded. And what are we left with in the end? If we really get down to the details, it turns out that Kane’s long-awaited first trophy was… “gifted” to him?!We are the Champions!! 🏆 pic.twitter.com/YYHC7k6ldU— Harry Kane (@HKane) May 4, 2025 Well, not exactly. Obviously, there’s a playful tone to all this. But does winning a title like this ruin some of the joy? Yes — it does. That’s a fact. It’s not the same when you win it on the field, celebrating goals, versus sitting at home — even if surrounded by loved ones — watching your rivals drop points and claiming it that way… like it came to you on its own. Like you didn’t even have to move. Even though you actually sweat and fought so hard just to finally lift it. With this draw, Freiburg has returned to fourth place. It’s true that everything is still in their own hands (they still have to face Holstein Kiel away and host Eintracht), but if Dortmund ends up pushing them out of the Champions League, there’s no doubt that Julian Schuster’s men will have to point the finger at themselves first. Because today they had it all — they were leading 2–0, controlling the match — only to collapse in unbelievable fashion at the end and allow last season’s champion to escape with a point.HARRY KANE HAS WON HIS 1ST CAREER TROPHY BY WINNING THE BUNDESLIGA pic.twitter.com/SqoLLW9Ewk— Troll Football (@TrollFootball) May 4, 2025 As for how Bayer Leverkusen played, there’s hardly any need to waste words. In fact, plenty of criticism could be sent their way from Westphalia. The visitors looked like they didn’t even want to play, as if they’d been forced at gunpoint to show up at Europa-Park — and the stats from the first hour or so of play prove it best: they didn’t even attempt a single shot. A bit of Florian Wirtz’s magic, a bit of inexplicable relaxation by the hosts, and Bayer managed to come back at the end. First they cut the lead to 1–2, then managed to equalize at 2–2 — something that brought the most joy to Dortmund, without a doubt. Leipzig still has its own calculations, but it’s much more realistic that we’ll see Freiburg or Borussia in the Champions League next season. The key test for the Black and Yellows comes next week when Leverkusen comes to town.BUNDESLIGA – MATCHDAY 32Friday Heidenheim – Bochum 0-0Saturday M’gladbach – Hoffenheim 4-4 (2-1)/Chiarodia 5, Reitz 32, Honorat 64, Kleindienst 90+1 – Chaves 43, Bulter 54, Hlozek 73, Tabakovic 81/RB Leipzig – Bayern Munich 3-3 (2-0)/Sesko 11, Klostermann 39, Poulsen 90+4 – Dier 62, Olise 63, Sane 83/St. Pauli – Stuttgart 0-1 (0-0)/Woltemade 81/Union Berlin – Werder 2-2 (1-2)/Rothe 37, Benes 84 – Stage 2,15/Dortmund – Wolfburg 4-0 (2-0)/Guirassy 3, 59, Adeyemi 69, 73/Sunday Augsburg – Holstein Kiel 1-3 (0-2)/Mounie 90 – Machino 25 (p)  Bernhardsson 40, 51/Freiburg – Leverkusen 2-2 (1-0)/Eggstein 44, Hincapie (og) 48 – Wirtz 82, Tah 90+3/20.30: (2.40) Mainz (3.60) Eintr.Frankfurt (3.00)***odds are subject to change***
