Team manager Rodgers Ateya, who was at hand to receive the gear alongside dozens of jovial players, revealed that the club ha a well-calculated and clear plan of rise to the top level in five years time. To achieve their plan, Ekerenyo, who currently tops the Nyamira North Sub-county League, will have to be crowned the county champions this season so as to advance to the Nyanza Regional League. Topping the regional league will see the team, founded by the local community, scale to the FKF Division 2 League and later to the Division One Zone B competition. Should they prevail, the team which is known for producing former Shabana striker Philip Kamanda, will be handed a ticket to the National Super League (NSL), the country’s second tier. The two top teams from the NSL always advances to the top flight, with the third-placed on taking on the third from bottom FKF PL team in the promotion/relegation playoff. Ateya, believes that the donation will play a significant role in fueling their ambitious dream of reaching the highest tier of club football competition in the country. “One of our biggest challenges in our two years of existence has been kits and footballs. We are, however, happy that Mozzart Bet has solved the problem. Their gesture will definitely motivate us in our hunt for the top spot in the county and secure promotion to the regional league. Ultimately, our plan remains reaching the Premier League in five years time,” said Ateya. His sentiments were echoed by skipper Emmam Junior, who thanked Mozzart Bet for their dedication in lifting the standards of the the minnows. “This is a timely boost for us as a team as we have important matches coming up. Our goal is to proceed to the regional level. The fact that we have someone who thought it was wise to gift us kits is enough motivation to fight all the way to the top level. Our appreciation goes to the Mozzart Bet for the donation, ” said the midfielder. The donation underscores Mozzart Bet’s commitment to football development in the country and dignifying clubs at the grassroot level.
