An interview filled with gunshots – have you ever experienced that?

A lot of South American footballers, Brazilians in particular, are often speaking about their tough upbringing and living conditions. The crime rate in those countries is extremely high and Brazil in particular. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Brazil had a homicide rate of 21.26 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2021. In 2024, Brazil recorded 38,772 homicides. This represents a decrease from the 40,768 homicides reported in 2023. Looking by the cities, Rio de Janeiro is Brazil’s second most dangerous city (after Vitoria da Conquista), with murder rate of 39.8% on 100.000 inhabitants. And that is where a very ‘colorful’ event happened and it involves former Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern ace…..and a shotgun.Former #LFC player Philippe Coutinho was doing an interview with his current club @VascodaGama and suddenly gunshots were heard. You could see his reactions too he tried to play it cool: ‘Sh**t [laughs]’ pic.twitter.com/lGjas3nJ25— LFC Transfer Room (@LFCTransferRoom) May 22, 2025 Philippe Coutinho left Brazil when he was only 16 and signed for Inter Milan. He shined in Italy and made the best career move in 2013 when he went to Liverpool. As a big star he went to Barcelona in 2018, even won some titles, but his downfall started in Spain. He never recovered and spent time on loans to Bayern Munich and Aston Villa before switching to the Birmingham club in 2022. But his form was not satisfactory and off he went to loans. His current one is in Rio de Janeiro, where he plays for his boyhood club Vasco da Gama. And the gun fire sounds are back, but unfortunately, it’s a common thing for him.##NAJAVA_MECA_8945539##A bizarre thing happened in Coutinho’s interview for Brazilian TV channel Globo. The Brazilian was speaking in front of camera before the gunshots were heard, resulting in a smirk. For the first minute it was not so terrible, but afterwards, barrage of gunfire was heard, more than 20 during the 32 second clip. Coutinho stopped at one point, before started laughing, as it is obviously he is accustomed to. According to Globo, the training ground – Moacyr Barbosa – was opened in 2020 and is located near Cidade de Deus, which is a region that has seen a high number of violent incidents in recent years.
