Partey addressed his status with Arsenal

Since joining Arsenal for 50 million pounds, Thomas Partey has made 130 league appearances, scoring nine goals. The Ghana international has been a reliable ‘soldier’ and the one which accepts any role (played right back multiple times this season). He also easily survived all the cuts Mikel Arteta made over the years (Matteo Guendouzi, Willian, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang) but in 2025 we might see the end of his tenure at the Emirates. Nothing is over yet and the clubs are negotiating, but the mere fact that Arsenal allowed themselves to drag the negotiations deep into June (he will be a free player come July 1st ) also sends a message. Last week Arsenal released 20 players including Jorginho, Raheem Sterling and Kieran Tierney, but confirmed the talks with Partey. The second edition of the Thomas Partey Tournament kicked off today at the Tuba AstroTurf. The tournament which is focused on discovering and nurturing young football talents runs until Friday, June 13, 2025.#JoySports pic.twitter.com/Kl8DG5qz3u— #JoySports (@JoySportsGH) June 10, 2025 The 31-year old midfielder gave an interview for 3Sports and for the first time addressed his status with Arsenal, especially in the situation where Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi is on verge of a 51 million pounds worth transfer to the Emirates.“I think the first thing is where are you happy and where do you feel at home. At the end of the day you’ve been in football, you’ve been in different teams. Then it’s about what is your next objective what do you want to achieve next. You still have to look at all this and at the end of the day we all have a family that needs money, this is our mind. We are not getting younger. There are a lot of things where you have to look now with a family, where you want them to be happy. When you are young you just play anywhere. I’m an Arsenal fan, I can’t decide anything and just have to leave it to my agent and the club. Me, I just want to enjoy football” said the Ghana international.Partey still negotiating, Arsenal release first-team playersLooking into these statements, it looks like Partey would like to stay with the club, but that he also looks at other offers, considering that the Gunners are certainly looking to lower his wage. This is also one part of the irony, since this was Partey’s best season in Arsenal jersey.“Every moment, every year or every time in training there I feel I’ve been in my best because I can’t count how many games I was not giving all my best. Sometimes it may go bad but every game I go all out and try to give my best. I feel happy in me, every year injury or no injury which is part of it I have given my best” he said.##NAJAVA_MECA_8974299##
