California chronicles: Riots on the streets, combat on the pitch

Competition in Group B in the FIFA Club World Cup has yet to begin, but all eyes are already on California. Sadly, due to reasons that have nothing to do with football. Namely, as previously stated in one of our articles, violent protests are taking place in the streets all over Los Angeles, while Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are supposed to open the “battle” in their group at Rose Bowl Stadium in nearby Pasadena.Regardless, the game will be played, so the focus of the sports public (at least) will be on the duel between the Saints and Los Colchoneros (22.00).The historic Rose Bowl located in Pasadena, California will host the likes of PSG, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan among others for a total of six matches during the Club World Cup 🇺🇸Just a beautiful venue and backdrop 😍 pic.twitter.com/IuAWh0tMC8— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) June 14, 2025 After winning the club’s maiden UEFA Champions League, Luis Enrique’s crew is in seventh heaven and the new challenge arrives perhaps too soon for them, as they played the UCL final just 15 days ago. Still, they are undoubtedly motivated to confirm their power and attack another trophy. The team’s main star, Ousmane Dembele, will probably miss the entire group stage due to injury, as Goncalo Ramos or Bradley Barcola will take his place in the starting lineup alongside the wonderboy Desire Doue and the Georgian magician Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.CWC: Double zero at the start! Nevertheless, tables have turned in the meantime, the Saints are now the European Champions with confidence going through the roof, so Diego Simeone and his boys will have a much tougher job than seven months ago.In the remaining Group B match, the Brazilian Botafogo will face the US Seattle Sounders (06.00).FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP 2025Matchday 1SundayAl Ahly Cairo – Inter Miami 0-019:00: (1.01) Bayern (17.0) Auckland (60.0)22:00: (1.90) PSG (3.85) Atletico Madrid (4.10)Monday00:55: (2.65) Palmeiras (3.30) Porto (2.70)05:00: (1.95) Botafogo (3.45) Seattle (4.00)***odds are subject to change***
