The president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), Samuel Eto’o, does not stop shocking the football public all around the globe! Everyone still remembers his falling out with the national team head coach Marc Brys, refusing to provide the players and staff with the basic conditions for training and finding a new manager to replace the Belgian.Still, the 63-year-old survived all Eto’o’s attacks and is still on the Indomitable Lions’ bench, so the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker found another “victim” – his ex-Cameroon teammate Geremi Njitap!🚨 Official: Geremi Njitap has been suspended for 5 years from all football-related activities by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).The decision follows an incident involving Samuel Eto’o’s protocol officer in the Indomitable Lions’ dressing room during #AFCON2024… pic.twitter.com/YgAArGFLCz— Micky Jnr (@MickyJnr__) June 18, 2025 Namely, Geremi, the president of the National Union of Cameroonian Footballers (Synafoc), has been handed a five-year ban from all football-related activities by the Fecafoot. The reason for such a harsh punishment is the incident that happened during Cameroon’s 2023 AFCON clash against Gambia when Geremi had reportedly been expelled from the team’s locker room by force by Fecafoot security officers, while the direction for such an action came directly from the Federation’s officials. Moreover, he was fined approximately €15,000.During his time at Barca, Eto’o spent €4.75m on just one thingThe only problem is that neither Eto’o nor Fecafoot had the authority to suspend or fine the man who wore the Indomitable Lions’ jersey 119 times. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) reacted, but the issue has yet to be resolved. In the meantime, Geremi’s Synafoc has been replaced with a new players’ union, which is much more in alliance with Fecafoot’s policy. And while the former Real Madrid, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Middlesborough player is preparing an appeal and CAF is getting ready to intervene one more time, this case clearly shows the way Eto’o leads Fecafoot – with an iron fist, and that can have severely detrimental consequences on the Cameroon national team and Cameroonian football in general.##NAJAVA_MECA_8984159##
