Belgian so-called Golden Generation ended its less-than-golden tenure with an anonymous exit from the World Cup after a meek goalless draw with Croatia. Coach Roberto Martinez had no choice but to attack with more resolve, so he replaced Mertens with Romelu Lukaku.The big striker marked a period of Belgian domination with a ferocious shot that bounced off the post.
