Muhoroni Youth FC have been left with a sour taste in their mouths with the club sensationally claiming that Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Kariobangi Sharks conspired to rob them of a player they developed from scratch, without paying a penny.Collins Obanda was listed among 18 players signed by Kariobangi Sharks at the closure of the FKFPL pre-season transfer window on Monday, but Youth are categorical that they were not involved in any negotiations, nor did they release the player.”When Sharks (Kariobangi) approached us and made it clear that they wanted Collins (Obanda), we told them that they will have to part with Ksh 1.5 million, because, ‘this is a player we’ve taken care of since his formative years,’ but instead of negotiating with us, they went to the FKF to intimidate us,” a source who spoke anonymously for fear of victimisation told Mozzart Sport.Full FKFPL Transfers List – Crippled Gor promotes three junior playersIn an email letter to Muhoroni Youth, seen by Mozzart Sport, the FKF through Head of Leagues and Competitions, Doreen Nabwire determined that the player’s contract was breached over nonpayment of salary, and hence, going by FIFA rules and regulations, having given notice of terminating his contract, the player was “free to join a club of his choice without any further reference to his former club.”Sharks CEO Lynda Ambiyo disregarded the claims, pointing out they had followed the due procedure to acquire the player.”The player came to us as a free agent and impressed and we, therefore, didn’t have any reason not to sign him. Muhoroni had not paid him for 10 months and he wrote a notice to them as required and followed it up with a termination letter within the stipulated time.
