Mara Sugar FC head coach Francis Xavier was impressed by his side’s performance on Friday during a league match against Coastal Heroes at the Mbaraki Sports Club that they won 2-0.Goals from Philemon Nyakwakwa and Mohammed Barasa helped the millers register a second win on the bounce and they now sit at the helm of the National Super League (NSL) log with six points. They have scored three goals and let in none.##NAJAVA_MECA_6881997##The former AFC Leopards captain lauded his team for exerting authority throughout the game and making the dominance count by scoring two goals.“We played well, controlled the match for the better part of it, and also took the chances that we created, and overall it was a good performance from the boys and I congratulate them,” he said. The former midfielder is however not getting carried away with the strong start to the new as he believes that there is a lot of work that still needs to be done and believes that improvement will be gradual.“It is good to start the season positively but there is a lot of work that still has to be done. I am new in the team and I am trying to make them handle matches my way. The reception has been good and we have to keep working and improving at the training ground,” he added. Two games, two goals for Philemon Nyakwakwa.Mara Sugar signed the striker for Emuhaya FC.Unfortunately he saw red in the closing stages of the game against Coastal Heroes a while ago.Mara picked a 2-0 win at the Mbaraki Sports Club.#NSL pic.twitter.com/EJHLdQpkEo— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) December 9, 2022 New signing Nyakwakwa was once again on the scoresheet. The new acquisition from Emuhaya FC scored the solo league goal against Naivas FC a fortnight ago and got the opener against Heroes. A second bookable offense however resulted in him seeing red in the later stages of the game and Xavier believes that they have some good talent at their disposal.“We got him from the lower league and he has scored in the two games that he has played although he was unfortunate to see red in the closing stages of the game against Heroes. His biggest strength is confidence, he is one very confident player and it makes every other thing fall into place for him. He has the potential to be a super striker if he keeps working hard and remains disciplined,” he added.According to NSL’s fixtures, Mara are supposed to play APS Bomet but the much may not take place as Bomet are protesting a return to the second tier.Senaji’s first half strike earns Tusker three vital points at Bidco United’s loss
