Former AFC Leopards captain Martin Imbalambala is set to join the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (Kefwa) secretariat as the representative of people living with disabilities (PWDs).This comes after the former midfielder, who sadly lost his sight graduated from the Kenya School for the Blind after a year-long training.##NAJAVA_MECA_63##The former combative midfield dynamo was enrolled at the school in January and underwent training that enables him to cope with the daily life and in an earlier interview, the player said much had changed since he joined the school and was looking forward to a successful life.Kefwa Education Officer Dan Makori said that Kefwa office reached an agreement to absorb him after seeing him through the training and believes that he will play a key role at Kefwa.”As a parent when you educate a child, you want the best even after finishing education. We have walked a long journey with Imbalambala and prior to this auspicious occasion, the management held consultative discussions and agreed on bringing him on board,” Makori told Kefwa media.”Martin Imbalambala’s potential is very big. He will be joining the KEFWA secretariat and of course some of the key areas he will be playing part in is representing the welfare of our members with disabilities. I thank God, my wife, family and friends who have supported me through,” noted Imbalambala.Imbalambala lost his sight in 2018 and earlier efforts to restore it proved futile and he eventually had to be trained on how to live with the condition.
