Michael Igendia to return as Gor Mahia strength and conditioning coach

Michael Igendia will soon be unveiled as the new Strength and Conditioning Coach of Gor Mahia, Mozzart Sport can reliably report.  K’Ogalo have been in the market headhunting for the next man in charge of players’ fitness and have settled on Igendia, who has previously served in the same capacity at the record Kenyan champions and Football Kenya Federation,  FKF. Igendia, who is also a sports masseur, will be replacing Hamisi Musa who resigned late last year citing personal reasons.In his first spell at K’Ogalo, Igendia worked under Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic, winning the 2012 Kenyan Premier League Top 8 trophy and the FKF Cup.##NAJAVA_MECA_6923651##The 2012 squad was considered one of the fittest in the league and came very close to winning the 2012 league title, finishing second behind Tusker FC.Profile Mikael is a Sports Scientist who completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Finland. In between the two degrees he also became a Certified Sports Masseur after graduating from Carl Wilhelm Academy, Finland. During his Master’s Degree studies in Finland, he worked as a sports masseur with clients ranging from top football players, motor sportsmen, athletes, and weight lifters. ##EDITORS_CHOICE##The Sports Masseur studies complement his work as a Strength and Conditioning Coach through a greater understanding of human anatomy.He worked with the Kenya U23 and the Senior Men’s National Football teams as the Strength and Conditioning Coach and the performance analyst. Previously, he was  involved with several other national football teams in Kenya, including the women’s senior national team as well as both the Men’s and the Women’s U20 teams. Likewise, while he was in Europe, he gained valuable experience at AFC Bournemouth in England where he performed the duties of a sports masseur while completing his certification.
