Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has written to the Auditor General to conduct a special audit on the money spent to build and renovate stadia in the country in the recent past.The CS was speaking on Wednesday in Embu County at the Moi Stadium where he had gone to inspect the venues earmarked to host Madaraka Day celebrations this year, with the state of the facility in Embu catching his attention for the wrong reasons.Ksh 3.7 Billion allocated to Nairobi Stadiums in six yearsNamwamba said that the audit will be done across the board, including on the major facilities in the country Nyayo Stadium and Kasarani Stadium which do not meet FIFA and CAF standards as yet despite lengthy renovations recently.”I have written to the Auditor General asking her to conduct a special audit on the money spent on Stadium in the whole country and those that will be found culpable of misusing public funds meant for stadia should be ready to take responsibility.
