Juve vs Napoli: A winner without a glory against a successful loser

One club is one of the most successful but hated in Italy, the other one is sympathized for its most famous footballer – Diego Armando Maradona. One has a coach who is highly rated even thou he never won a Serie A title, the other has a coach with 6 titles who is still not considered a top coach. Both have their oxymoron nicknames: ‘A winner without a glory’ (Massimiliano Allegri) and ‘a successful loser’ (Luciano Spalletti). And they will clash today in a game which could bring some excitement to the Serie A title race. GOOD MORNING IT’S A HUGE SERIE A MATCHDAY!Napoli are taking on Juventus in a top of the table clash ⚔ pic.twitter.com/qcyXuG74iz— Italian Football TV (@IFTVofficial) January 13, 2023 So far, Napoli has been the undisputed favorite for Scudetto, but the recent loss from Inter disrupted the harmony. Another potential loss, this time from Juventus (another potential title candidate) would shrink the difference to only 4 points and would again start the stories about Spalletti’s inability to win the title. He played fantastic with Udinese and Roma, but the title never came. He ‘destroyed’ in the first half of the season, but since the beginning of the year, Napoli is not so good, and one of the main players, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is out of form. So, the experienced Allegri used his press conference to add more pressure.“I am also a coach, but I do this job by chance, I should have something else. Luciano is so, so good, he’s the best when it comes to teaching football. It’s a lovely match to play. We need to play well, with enthusiasm and desire, but it won’t be decisive for the title and it will be more important for them. It’s not a crash test. We’re coming off a good run but Napoli is, too. It will not be a decisive match but a very important one, for them more than for us” said Allegri.📈 Top rated players in Serie A this season:🥇 🔵 Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – 7.39🥈 🔵 Victor Osimhen – 7.31🥉 🔵 Mario Rui – 7.28⚠️ A warning for Juventus, who take on Napoli tonight… pic.twitter.com/RsbFHj7uxA— WhoScored.com (@WhoScored) January 13, 2023 He didn’t have to wait long for a response. Spalletti replied that with so much investment in the squad, Juventus and Allegri cannot hide and pretend they are not favorites. “I understand that it’s convenient for Allegri to pass off as a supporting player, but for a Juve always stuffed with champions it’s impossible for them to hide from the role of favourites. Certain investments only pay off by playing for Scudetto and Champions League victory. It’s useless to wear a hat or a fake beard, there is no fourth place that will satisfy Juventus” said Allegri. Juve are on a roll, with eight consecutive wins and no conceived goals, Napoli defeated Juventus 2-1 in Naples last season, which was their third victory in a row at home against the Bianconeri. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6945074##
