Zoo FC have begun life in the Football Kenya Federation, FKF Div 1 Zone B league on a brighter note, winning three of their opening four games.The Kericho County – based outfit were relegated to the lower tier league last season after being found guilty of match-fixing.In their last outing over the weekend, Zoo hammered Sunderland Keroche 4-1 to move within four points reach of table leaders Green Commandos, who have played two games more.”We have a very young and exciting squad we’re trying to mold and so far they’re responding well,” Zoo FC coach Harman Iswekha told Mozzart Sport.##NAJAVA_MECA_6944925##For a team that featured in the top flight Football Kenya Federation Premier League, FKFPL just a couple of seasons ago, the demotion to Div 1 was expected to affect them physiologically, but Iswekha says they are content.”Dropping to the lower league was to an extent a blessing in disguise because it gave us an opportunity to start on a clean slate. To be honest, we were having funny characters in the team that we needed to get rid of,” he added.##EDITORS_CHOICE##The “funny characters” Iswekha alluded to are players who were involved in match-fixing leading to the club attracting FIFA’s wrath.In a latest revelation, six former Zoo FC players were amongst fifteen individuals, who were suspended by FKF from all football activities for involvement in match-fixing, pending investigations.Iswekha is content with the support Zoo is getting to enable the compete in the league, “so far so good, the chairman has made sure we’re comfortable. The fans have also given us a lot of support. In our weekend game, you could have thought we were playing a Premier League match, the fans came in large numbers to support. We thank them.”
