Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama, who was once on the books of 12 time Kenyan champions AFC Leopards, has backed his former side to end their near six year wait for a league victory against Gor Mahia (3D 10L) when the two sides renew their fierce rivalry in the 92nd edition of the Mashemeji Derby set for this Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium.Speaking ahead of the game, Wanyama, who currently plies his trade in the Major League Soccer (MLS) with CF Montreal, rallied football fans in the country to go out in large numbers to cheer the game which pits fans of two of the most supported clubs in Kenya.Gor Mahia appeal to Raila Odinga ahead of Mashemeji DerbyIn a video message, the former Tottenham midfielder disclosed where his loyalty lies as he called on fans to provide the much needed atmosphere that a game of such caliber needs.“Hello guys, this Sunday we have the Mashemeji Derby.
