Ulinzi Stars have huffed and puffed since last lifting the league back in 2010 but right back Brian Birgen has revealed that the squad they possess this season is capable of lifting the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title.The Soldiers are enjoying an indifferent season this campaign after battling relegation for majority of last season and finally secured their top-flight status with a few games remaining to the end of the season.How Gor Mahia plan to navigate FKF Cup with thin squadHaving joined Ulinzi back in 2014 and spending nine years with the club, Birgen believes the current crop of players at Ulinzi are capable of lifting the league title for the fifth time in their history. “I have stayed at Ulinzi for some time, right now we have good players who have come in and for a long time, we have not had a squad as good as this one. I have a lot of faith in the crop of players that are on the team right now.##NAJAVA_MECA_6988540##I have a feeling that this could be the season that we break our long barren run without the league title, we are taking one game at a time and our ambition is to always win the league every season but other times we fail,” said Birgen.Ulinzi had bolstered their squad at the start of the season with Hillary Simiyu, Boniface Muchiri, Francis Omondi, and Jacob Onyango among others and also brought in Bernard Mwalala as the head coach.After starting the season with back-to-back losses, Ulinzi have only recently suffered defeat against log leaders Nzoia Sugar with Birgen opening up on the reason for their tough start to the season.Arnold Origi appointed as a goalkeeping coach in Sweden”When the season started we had a new coach who came in late because we had already started our pre-season but now we have had time to understand how he wants us to play.We also have teamwork in the squad and we have gelled which has led to our recent good performances,” added Birgen.
