Matano lauds fighting spirit after Tusker end worrying four match winless streak

Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has lauded the resilience and fighting spirit shown by his team in their Saturday 2-1 victory against Mathare United.In the match played at the Ruaraka Grounds, two second half goals from Ibrahim Joshua and Shami Mwinyi that came on either side of Daniel Ange’s strike for Mathare United, helped the Brewers end their worrying four match winless streak (D2 L2) as they recorded only their third victory in the ten league clashes they have played in 2023.🙏| That huge win was for you, Lawrence Luvanda.We dedicate this to you Chief, at this difficult time. pic.twitter.com/g42GMaITDZ— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) February 18, 2023 Having managed to get back to winning ways, Matano expressed his relief as he credited the team for grinding out the result against the slum boys.“It is a good relief for considering the circumstances because we did not have most of our key players. I appreciate the group of players we are having because they came out very strong and showed that they are in this team to play which makes me happy.##NAJAVA_MECA_7031465##We were still rebuilding after losing some of the first team players but that fighting spirit in the second half showed that we are improving game by game,” the head coach said after the game.However, despite getting back to winning ways, the decorated tactician who has won three titles called his side to show even more heading into the second half of the 2022/2023 season.“We should not look at today’s win alone. We should focus forward in the upcoming games as this one is already history.
