Paolo Maldini’s one proud dad! His boy Daniel scored against rivals Inter

Daniel Maldini, son of the AC Milan icon Paolo Maldini, and grandson of another Rossoneri great Cesare Maldini, scored a goal against Inter Milan, their biggest rivals on Friday night. Playing for Serie A struggles Spezia on loan, Daniel found the bottom corner of Samir Handanovic’s goal to give the hosts an unlikely lead – and dive them to a surprising 2-1 victory at Stadio Alberto Picco in La Spezia. The game itself saw three penalties – two for Inter and one for Spezia. Sadly for the Lombardian club, they missed one of theirs and lost the game to brave minnows.Hovering just above the drop zone, Spezia have last won a game in mid-January and went into the game against Nerazzurri on the back of an eight-game winless run. But the team managed by Leonardo Semplici had an ace up their sleeve: goalkeeper Bartolomiej Dragowski was in the mood for heroics.Just 12 minutes into the game, Mattia Caldara clattered Danilo D’Ambrosio and referee pointed to the spot after a long VAR review. However, the Pole dived to his left and beat Lautaro Martinez’s penalty away. And then came Daniel. The young Maldini used a fantastic squared pass from Angola international M’Bala Nzola and found the net.Daniel Maldini, son of Paolo Maldini has scored two Serie A goals on loan at Spezia :• vs Milan• vs InterSon of the City. 🎖️ pic.twitter.com/eyl2UWzvVD— H/F (@hfworld_) March 10, 2023 Inter levelled from the spot with less then ten minutes to go after Spezia’s substitute Salva Ferrer fouled Denzel Dumfries shortly after coming on. Romelu Lukaku levelled from the spot, but there was another twist in the story of this game.Dumfries was in the thick of the action in his box three minutes from time, but this time for all the wrong reasons. He gave away a penalty, giving Nzola a chance to win the game for Spezia and provide his team a lifeline in the battle for survival.Simone Inzaghi will likely live to regret this defeat – especially if Inter drop out of the Champions League places.SERIE A – ROUND 26FridaySpezia – Inter 2-1 (0-0)Maldini 55, Nzola 87 pen – Lukaku 83 pen/Saturday17:00: (3.00) Empoli (3.35) Udinese (2.60)20:00: (1.73) Napoli (3.90) Atalanta (5.50)22:45: (3.10) Bologna (3.20) Lazio (2.60)Sunday14:30: (3.10) Lecce (3.00) Torino (2.75)17:00: (4.50) Cremonese (3.60) Fiorentina (1.94)17:00: (2.65) Verona (3.15) Monza (3.10)20:00: (1.79) Roma (3.70) Sassuolo (5.40)22:45: (1.41) Juventus (4.90) Sampdoria (11.0)Monday22:45: (1.30) Milan (6.00) Salernitana (11.0)***odds are subject to change***
