After Derby Della Capitale and a narrow 1-0 win over Roma, Lazio came to the second position in Serie A and put a pressure on Inter to deliver at their home ground against Juventus. After under-average Spezia and Bologna, an in-form team won against Simone Inzaghi’s men and put them under additional pressure. In the last 10 Serie A games, Juve lost only two matches, and drew once. In all other games, they won, and even in their last defeat, against Roma on March 4th, they were the better team and created better chances. Allegri’s men finally found their groove and it’s not flashy, it’s not particularly nice to watch, but they are winning. After losing 15 points due to financial fraud they committed in January this year, Bianconeri rose from the mid-table position and are now only 7 points away from the Champions League place. If their appeal somehow works and they get their 15 points back, Juventus will get straight to the second place. Barella unleashed a shot from distance, forcing Szczesny to tip over the bar for a corner. The Inter midfielder had even better opportunity 15 minutes later, when he had a fantastic one-two with Lukaku and found himself alone in front of Juve keeper, but his shot went straight into the Pole. The punishment came in the 23rd minute, when Filip Kostić scored a great goal just within the penalty area. VAR took a long look into the goal, as possible handballs from Rabiot and Vlahović were checked, but the goal was eventually given. The second half was not good for Inter, who just couldn’t create a decent chance. In fact, the home team made its first shot on target in the second half after 30 minutes. Coach Inzaghi tried to shake up his team by introducing D’Ambrosio and Mkhitaryan, but nothing happened. Juve had one good chance in that period, while Inter missed opportunities from Dzeko and Mkhitaryan.
