Reasons for Naglesmann’s sacking revealed

One of the bigger shocks in football world this season, and certainly the biggest since the beginning of this year came from Bundesliga last night, of all places. Bayern Munich have decided to part ways with coach Julian Nagelsmann in the middle of the season, even thou the team has a realistic chance to win all three trophies: Bundesliga, DFB Cup and the Champions League. At the moment, the Bavarians are only one point below the league leaders Borussia Dortmund, but are hosting them on April 1st, they are paired with Freiburg in the German Cup and they will face Manchester City in the Champions League quarter final. So why have they decided to sack Nagelsmann, a perspective young coach for whom they paid a staggering 20 million euros to Leipzig in June 2021?Update #Nagelsmann: All in all its not a surprise. We have reported it a lot of times. It was never a symbiosis between coach/ team. Too much theatre, lack of results. Even regular players have complained about him. Nagelsmann never had all the bosses behind him. @SkySportDE 🇩🇪 pic.twitter.com/rCEBxl7MM1— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) March 24, 2023 Bayern is a club which only changes coaches during the season if a string of defeats takes place and so far, this was not the case. Also, they signed a five year deal with the coach and gave him support publically. The last one was just a week ago, after a 2-1 loss to Leverkusen.”We plan with him for the long term, have documented this with a five-year contract because we want to build something with him. You can see a clear progress in these one and a half years. Julian is doing very well. The trainer discussion in between came from outside, we didn’t start it off the fence” said President Herbert Hainer for Kicker. So, there must be some serious reasons why they changed their mind just a week later. According to well informed journalists from Bild and Sky Sports Germany, Naglesmann lost the dressing room, didn’t developed the players and didn’t have the support of all club’s bosses. The first reason is always the worst one and it was the reason why Niko Kovac was also fired in the middle of the season, and Hansi Flick took over. He never managed to blend in with the players and even regular players have complained about him, not the mention the stars. Only Joshua Kimmich was happy with him. He also failed to develop talented players and top transfers, not to mention that Bayern’s game and displays were not satisfying. On top of that, both players and bosses were surprised to hear that he is going on a mini skiing weekend to Austria with his girlfriend, while they had to work. What a shocker: Nagelsmann sacked, Tuchel is the new Bayern coach! It was in Austria where he heard the news of his dismissal via media, or to be more precise, via his girlfriend Lena Wurzenberger, who is a journalist for a local branch of the Bild newspaper. It was through her and not the club that he discovered the decision of his leaders, while his ousting should be formalized this Friday in Munich, where he is expected by his leaders in the coming hours. As per Sky Sports Germany, he will not be sacked and the separation will not be mutual, he will remain on a payroll (8 million euros per year) until he finds another job, since any other option would cost Bayern millions. He will be succeeded by his mentor Thomas Tuchel, who is all but signed his two and a half year deal with the Bavarians.##NAJAVA_MECA_7126014##Former Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Chelsea boss managed to persuade Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic that he is the man for the job. According to Bild, Tuchel was on Bayern’s radar five years ago, but the Parisians were faster and signed him in 2018. One of the reasons for sacking Nagelsmann prematurely was the fear that he could take over PSG(again), Tottenham or even Real Madrid and they wanted to hurry a little bit. The former Mainz and Dortmund coach was in Augsburg in 2007, coaching reserves and he actually gave Nagelsmann his first job, scouting opponents.”He’s a very inquisitive and very hardworking young coach. He enjoyed exceptional successes in youth football. I’m very happy for him and I believe in him” said Tuchel when Julian became coach of Hoffenheim.Julian Nagelsmann’s record at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season◼️ Games – 25◼️ Won – 15◼️ Drawn – 7◼️ Lost – 3◼️ Goals scored – 72◼️ Goals conceded – 27 pic.twitter.com/WHxL59UDk0— Football Daily (@footballdaily) March 24, 2023 So far, only Joao Cancelo commented on the shocking news, since he was on an international duty and wanted to say something to the media. “I’ve only found out now. I know I won’t find Nagelsmann when I return to Munich. He wanted me at Bayern, I’d like to thank him. As for Tuchel, he made me lose a Champions League final, so I hope he will win it for me this year!” said Cancelo to Sport TV.
