Mathare United are set to lose defender David ‘Cheche’ Ochieng to Kenya Police FC three weeks after re-signing the Kenyan international.He was set to feature for the side until the end of this season.The central defender was acquired immediately the transfer window was reopened on the 27th of February and featured in matches against Gor Mahia, Sofapaka and AFC Leopards providing leadership that saw the Slum Boys see off the two arch rivals.##NAJAVA_MECA_6035##The solid performances saw him return to the national team. He is part of the Kenya squad that left for Iran on Sunday morning for an international friendly match against Iran penciled for Tuesday. In the current national set up, only Brian Mandela has been with the national team longer than Cheche.Police were keen on bolstering their backline before the transfer window closes with the future of Harun Shakava in the squad up in the air. They initially invited an unnamed Ugandan for trials but he failed to impress during that period and the law enforcers opted against having him on board.They have now turned to Cheche whose transfer is expected to go through before the window closes on Monday evening and the Slum Boys appear to have been prepared for his departure.They have made two signings in the central defence department an indicator that they were well aware that they would lose the seasoned defender. The two are Geoffrey Lemu from Posta Rangers and John Kuol who makes a comeback after months in the cold. He’s a former Chemelil, Kariobangi Sharks and Wazito FC player.Police, hungry for the title, had added already added three experienced players to their squad.
