Potter’s magic is no more, but a shiny new toy from Germany has caught the Yankee’s attention

You know those people whose mouth works quicker than their brain? We all have people like that around us. It’s not that they don’t mean well – it’s just that they don’t hink their actions and words through. After another mad weekend at Stamford Bridge, we can’t help but think about Todd Boehly as one of those jump-the-gun characters. The eccentric American and his consortium paid around $5.2 BILLION to buy Chelsea Football Club, then-reigning champions of Europe, coached by the innovative coach Thomas Tuchel. It was a working, purring machine that was producing results and profit. But it didn’t satisfy Boehly. He started to play with his new toy, and rather than tinker gently with the machine he acquired, he started removing perfectly working parts just to see what would happen. Take any machine you’re unfamiliar with and take it apart – and you’ll quickly discover that putting it back together isn’t easy. Oh, Todd, what have you done?Sacking Graham Potter was the right decision but Chelsea’s is still a mess. It’s all on Todd boehly he doesn’t know what he’s doing. The only winner here is Graham Potter 60 million for six months of work. An he now can get another Job. pic.twitter.com/0z7Q3nVrrW— Egal (@EGTVEgal) April 2, 2023 Tuchel was sacked seven months ago, and now his successor Graham Potter is gone too. In the meantime, the club spent a fortune on new players in an attempt to paper over the cracks and magically turn a group of players into a winning team. They spent $397 million on transfers this January alone, with an eye on the future, with young stars Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk arriving. But despite their best endeavours in the transfer market and in training, the Blues continued to play poorly, with only a few flashes of quality here and there. April Fool’s Day is over, and so is Graham Potter in ChelseaPotter won just 12 of his 31 matches in charge of the club, drawing eight and losing eleven for a poor win percentage of 38.7. It was nowhere near enough. Potter lost his job less than a year into his five-year contract with the club, which is probably painful. Still, he stands to receive compensation or around $61 million – which isn’t a lousy consolation for losing one’s employment. All jokes aside, Boehly isn’t the first, and he won’t be the last to find out the hard way these things take time and patience.According to Daily Mail, however, the decision was led by co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, while owners Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have “only” backed the decision. “On behalf of everyone at the club, we want to thank Graham sincerely for his contribution to Chelsea. We have the highest degree of respect for Graham as a coach and as a person. He has always conducted himself with professionalism and integrity and we are all disappointed in this outcome.”##NAJAVA_MECA_7142310##As soon as Chelsea issued the non-surprising statement about Potter’s departure, the news were filled with the name of another recently-sacked coach – Julian Nagelsmann. The 35-year-old German, credited as being one of the most innovative and progressive coaches in world football, couldn’t prove his worth at Bayern and was replaced, somewhat ironically, by the man Boehly discarded, Thomas Tuchel. So now, Nagelsmann is unattached and presumably ready to jump into action once again. And if anything is certain these days is that there will be a lot of action at Stamford Bridge!Another out-of-work coach has been linked with Chelsea: former Spurs and PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino. However, the Argentine was free even when Tuchel was axed, so it leads us to believe that the American supremo isn’t impressed by Poch’s credentials. 🚨 BREAKING : Julian Nagelsmann has already called some of his people to ask them what they think about Chelsea. Zinedine Zidane, Luis Enrique and former Chelsea coach Brendan Rodgers are among the names being touted as favourites to take the hotseat at Stamford Bridge. Even Chelsea Women’s team head coach Emma Hayes has an outside chance of leading the Blues. Todd Boehly’s machine is currently being serviced. It’s producing nothing – except expenditures and bewilderment for Chelsea fans.
