AFC Leopards goalkeeper coach Webo among 30 enrolled for month long CAF C course

A group of 30 coaches on Monday got the opportunity to begin their month-long CAF C coaching course at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.The course will be conducted by FKF FIFA Instructors Leonard Odipo and Stanley Okumbi and is expected to run until May 3, 2023.##NAJAVA_MECA_7142395##Speaking during the opening session, FKF National Executive Member for Central region Davis Chege asked the coaches to seize the opportunity, soak in the knowledge and use gained expertise to become better coaches.“This is a very good opportunity for you as a coach to grow your football knowledge that you will use to develop players and lead teams,” Chege told the present coaches via FKF Media.Among the coaches present was Ulinzi Starlets Assistant coach Dorcas Tabitha, who sounded the same message to the coaches while asking interested candidates to apply for future coaches.“Local coaches should know that these courses are available for all and they should take advantage of them,” Tabitha said. “What matters is whether you still have the love for the game. That will drive you to being committed, to expand your knowledge of the game and how to use the expertise to help your community.”John Kiplagat, a youth coach in Murang’a also spoke about the beauty of the course especially towards using it in helping his community – like he does.“I have a group of young kids in Murang’a that I help and nurture through the skills learnt,” Kiplagat said. “If you are a player and maybe retired or were forced out due to injury, this is your chance now.”Ex-Ingwe hotshot Masinde itching for league return after sojourns in Uganda and IndiaOther notable names undertaking the training include; AFC Leopards goalkeeping coach Lawrence Webo and former Kenyan internationals Terry Ouko and James Situma.In attendance was the Area MCA and Ruiru Sports Academy Director John Njogu Kamande.
